Mr. Bahubali

Mr. Bahubali Gulabchand, nephew of renowned industrialist, Seth Walchand Hirachand was an eminent businessman with the heart of a philanthropist. He went on to be become the Chairman of Walchand Group, comprising of Walchand PeopleFirst, Hindustan Construction Company(HCC), Walchandnagar Industries, Premier Automobiles, Indian Hume Pipe & Ravalgaon Sugar.

With his business acumen, entrepreneurship and administrative ability, he helped consolidate the Walchand Group of Industries and led it to the pinnacle position of top 5 ranked industrial houses of India.

Under his stewardship, Walchand Group was known for high integrity, technological competence & diversified business activities.

His keen social sense made him always find time from his industrious & busy schedule for contribution to the community. 

He was a Rotarian of long standing and named a ‘Paul Harris-Fellow’ by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. He was very earnest in implementing Polio Plus programme organized by the World Rotary Foundation of Rotary International to immunise the children to eradicate polio and was given a Certificate of appreciation.

His contribution to industry and social service has been recognized in many ways , winning him many accolades. He was conferred with the ‘National Citizen Award’ by the then Vice President of India, Hon’ble Shri Shankar Dayal Sharma for the year 1989.

In recognition of the contributions made by him to the Indian Industry, he was also received the Bharat Udyog Award for the year 1992 by Shri K. C Pant, Chairman, Finance Commission.

He was also honoured by ‘The Indian Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award’ for the year 1991 conferred by Dr. Manmohan Singh, the then Hon’ble Minister for Finance. He was also the recipient of the ‘The Pride of India Gold Award’ presented by Shri Balaram Singh Yadav, the then Hon’ble State Minister for Mines.
